A report from the Somali government regarding the battle in the Qaycad area of southern Mudug stated that approximately 15 Al-Shabaab members were killed following an operation conducted by the Special Forces, Danab and Gorgor, in collaboration with local community fighters.
The government press release indicated that the Somali National Army, together with local residents, targeted Al-Shabaab militia positions in the Qaycad area desert, reportedly overpowering them completely.
The government also stated that this operation, which occurred shortly after dawn prayers, led to the Somali National Army and local residents fully reclaiming the targeted locations.
The Somali government emphasized that, with the support of the people, it has intensified operations against Al-Shabaab, with recent operations across several regions reportedly resulting in significant victories over Al-Shabaab forces.
